Tambopata Peruvian Amazon Jungle for Three Days/Two Nights

Embark on an unforgettable adventure through the lush Amazon jungle, experiencing unparalleled wildlife encounters and breathtaking natural beauty during this comprehensive three-day expedition designed exclusively for travelers seeking immersive wilderness exploration.

On Day One, guests were picked up from either the airport or bus station and driven to the port by boat. This journey took approximately one hour, bringing visitors to their accommodation at the lodge. Upon arrival, they were greeted with a selection of local fruits and offered the chance to unwind in their newly allocated rooms.

During the afternoon, guests embarked on a unique excursion known as "Monkey Island," where they had the opportunity to witness various monkey species and even engage in feeding sessions. As the sun began to set, guests ventured into the surrounding area to seek out caimans along the banks of the Madre de Dios River. These creatures are typically found near the water's edge and provide an excellent vantage point for viewing these elusive creatures.

In the evenings, guests enjoyed a leisurely meal before settling down for a restful night's sleep at the lodge.

The next day commenced with a hearty breakfast followed by a brief stroll to Lake Sandoval. This picturesque location offers a prime spot for observing a variety of bird species such as hoatzins, cormorants, jacanas, herons, eagles, howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, black capuchins, tamarins, and sloths. There was also the possibility of encountering a family of giant river otters, each measuring nearly two meters in length and currently facing significant threats due to their dwindling population. Visitors could also catch a glimpse of the largest alligator ever documented, standing well over four meters tall.

For lunch, guests indulged in traditional cuisine prepared at the lodge. Afternoon activities included a nighttime expedition aimed at discovering the diverse array of insects, amphibians, reptiles, and nocturnal wildlife residing within this captivating ecosystem. Dinner concluded the first full day of exploration, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their adventure.

On Day Three, early morning preparations led to a canopy tour, providing guests with unparalleled views of the Rio Madre de Dios from above. Spectacular bird sightings awaited, including toucans and macaws, while guests observed various species of flora and fauna below. Following the tour, travelers returned to Puerto Maldonado via the riverine route, ready for departure upon arrival at the airport or bus terminal depending on their destination.
