Lake Sandoval, a gem of nature located in Tambopata, Peru, enchants visitors with its transparent waters framed by the verdant expanse of the Amazon Rainforest. This pristine habitat is home to an unparalleled array of biodiversity, offering an exceptional opportunity for birdwatching and wildlife encounters.

Itinerary

* Day 1: Arrival & Initial Exploration
* Upon arriving in Puerto Maldonado, guests will be greeted by our dedicated team. Following this, they will proceed to the Tambopata River aboard a vessel designed for comfortable navigation. They will be briefed upon boarding and settled into their accommodations. For lunch, they may opt to dine at the lodge or choose a local restaurant nearby. During the afternoon, participants will undertake a guided hiking expedition through secondary and primary forests, encountering various tree species, epiphytes, and other plant life. Post-hiking, there will be time for discussions regarding the socio-economic aspects of the area before returning to the lodge for a meal.

* Day 2: Exploring Parrot Clay Lick & Lake Sandoval
* The itinerary begins with an early morning breakfast served around 5:00 AM. Guests will then set off for a 1-hour and 30-minute boat ride towards the Parrot Clay Lick, a site renowned for its vibrant parrot and macaw displays. Upon arrival, they can relax and watch as these colorful birds interact naturally. Lunch will follow at the clay lick, after which they will proceed back to the lodge. In the afternoon, they will make their way to Lake Sandoval, traversing a tropical jungle ecosystem rich in wildlife. Monkeys, sloths, and macaws will likely be among the sightings. A visit to the lake will also provide opportunities for bird watching, including species such as kingfishers, tanagers, and herons.

* Day 3: Giant Otter Search & Evening Walk
* Early-morning exploration will commence with efforts to locate and observe giant otters and observe multicolored parrots. Subsequently, the group will venture into a dense forest populated with ancient trees, learning about traditional medicine practices utilized by indigenous communities. Post-lunch, they will engage in swimming activities and later embark on another search for black caimans. As dusk approaches, they will sail to witness the nightly spectacle, ending with dinner and rest.

* Day 4: Final Excursions & Departure
* The final day will begin with an early morning search for giant otters and a close examination of the diverse flora and fauna surrounding Lake Sandoval. Breakfast will be enjoyed early, after which they will return to the lodge. Finally, they will journey to Puerto Maldonado, concluding their stay at the hotel and preparing for departure from the airport.
