Tambopata, Multi-Day Amazon Rainforest Tour with Local Guide

Embark on an enriching multi-day journey through the vast expanse of the Amazon Rainforest, where one can marvel at its unparalleled natural splendor, witness a diverse array of flora and fauna, and gain profound insights into the rich cultural tapestry of indigenous communities.

Arrival Day

Upon arrival at the airport or bus terminal in Puerto Maldonado, we will facilitate your transfer to our office for registration. Following this, we will embark on a motorboat journey along the Madre de Dios River for approximately 40 minutes, eventually arriving at our lodge. Upon arrival, a refreshing welcome drink awaits you. Post-lunch, you will proceed to Monkey Island, where you can marvel at the diverse array of monkeys.

Following a leisurely break, we will venture into the jungle to explore streams and encounter Jungle caimans. Dinner will be served later, followed by a night at the lodge.

Day 2

Start your day with a hearty breakfast. Afterward, we will board a boat to access the control point within the Tambopata National Reserve. This trek will lead you through dense rainforests, enveloped by ancient trees and intertwined vines. Alongside your exploration, you may spot Giant Otters, colorful butterflies, and various fish species. In the afternoon, we will embark on a canoe ride on one of the most enchanting lakes in the region, Sandoval Lake.

Lunch will be enjoyed before embarking on an adventurous journey to ascend a tower and traverse a stairway to reach a platform located at the top of a zip-line nearly 200 meters in length. Here, you will experience breathtaking vistas juxtaposed against the thrill of conquering your fears.

The remainder of the day offers ample opportunity to relax and immerse yourself in the serene ambiance of the jungle.

Day 3

In the morning, set sail downstream towards a Native Community. The project "Rescuing Cultural Values" will guide you through the ancestral culture, traditions, and daily life of these communities. By mid-afternoon, you will engage in a traditional activity—rustic fishing—in the Madre de Dios River. With the potential for catching species such as pictus catfish, small-mouth, armoured catfish, and red-eyed piranhas, your efforts might yield unexpected rewards.

Afterwards, return to the lodge for a sumptuous dinner. The evening concludes with another night at the lodge.

Day 4

Begin your day with a cup of coffee before heading out early in the morning to the Parakeet's Clay Lick. Each morning, the parrots and parakeets gather here to consume rich clay that aids in absorbing essential nutrients from the plants they consume. Our expedition will conclude around 7 am for breakfast, after which we will return to Puerto Maldonado aboard our boat departing at 10:30 am. Following this, there will be a transfer to the airport or bus terminal.
