Alessandria, Italy
Discover an enchanting exploration of Monferrato's renowned vineyards, immersing yourself in the captivating realm of wine. Conclude this delightful experience with a culinary adventure: a hands-on fresh pasta cooking class.
We shall depart from an opulent venue equipped with modern amenities, proceeding towards a nearby local cantina. Our hosts, residing in this picturesque locale for thirteen years, possess extensive familiarity with the surrounding area. Upon arrival, we shall pause briefly for photographic opportunities, taking advantage of a panoramic vista offering breathtaking views of UNESCO vineyards. Subsequently, guided tours of the cantina will be conducted by seasoned professionals, allowing visitors to sample a selection of wines—three to four varieties—in the company of knowledgeable staff members.
Following the tour, guests will be afforded the opportunity to explore additional culinary delights. We will proceed to Verdmont, where a grand bench offers unparalleled vistas of vineyards. Here, we shall gather once again, enjoying refreshments and photographs under the serene landscape.
Upon returning to Verdmont, preparations commence with the application of aprons as we embark upon a gastronomic journey. Our itinerary includes learning to knead, mix, and shape freshly prepared pasta dough. Each participant will participate actively in the process, mastering the techniques required to achieve perfect results.
As the pasta cools, a carefully selected seasonal sauce will be crafted: either basil, pesto, fresh cherry tomatoes during the warmer months, or mushrooms and sage butter in autumn. Following the preparation of the sauce, guests will indulge in their newly made pasta paired with a choice of local wines, enhancing the dining experience with complementary desserts.
Lastly, a homemade dessert awaits, complementing the meal with a final sip of locally brewed espresso or leaf tea, concluding the memorable event.
| Highlights | Enjoy the picturesque UNESCO World Heritage Site of Monferrato, where one can indulge in exquisite wines produced from local grapes, accompanied by authentic Italian cuisine such as homemade pasta and delectable desserts.
