Discover the KBr Fundación MAPFRE Barcelona Photo Center located in the Port Olimpic area of Barcelona, where visitors can experience an immersive exploration of artistic photography until January 28, 2024. This unique space showcases a temporary exhibition featuring contemporary photography alongside the third edition of the annual appointment with emerging photographic talent from the new generation of photographers who have completed their studies in Barcelona.

William Eggleston, born in Memphis, Tennessee, USA in 1939, is a renowned figure in photography history. His 1976 MoMA solo exhibition marked him as the first photographer to exhibit a large-scale color photograph in a museum. Alongside other celebrated contemporary photographers like Gary Winogrand and Lee Friedlander, Eggleston contributed significantly to breaking away from traditional constraints within the medium, particularly challenging the notion that artistic photography should exclusively adhere to black-and-white aesthetics. "Mystery of the Ordinary," curated by KBr Fundación MAPFRE, offers a comprehensive retrospective of William Eggleston's extraordinary body of work.

This year, the third edition of the annual appointment features the innovative projects of four promising young photographers—Alan Balzac from Galicia, Ivette Blaya from Santa Margarita de Montbui, Rocío Madrid from Melilla, and Lucía Morón from Buenos Aires—who have embarked upon their professional careers after completing their studies in Barcelona. These works were selected through rigorous evaluations conducted by professionals within the field.

Open Monday (excluding holidays) and Tuesday-Sunday (and holidays) from 11 am to 8 pm, last entry at 7:30 pm. Special opening hours extend to December 24th and 31st, January 5th, offering additional opportunities for discovery.

To commemorate the occasion, special exhibitions will also take place throughout the year, including thematic screenings and workshops aimed at fostering engagement and appreciation among attendees. Visitors may purchase digital prints online or request custom-sized prints directly at the center.
