Yaxha, Shared Sunset Tour / Transportation & Guide

Location Yaxha Archaeological Site, Flores guatemala, Guatemala

Mayan World Travel Agency Tours and Trek

Discover the enchanting Mayan site of Yaxha, nestled amidst lush landscapes, where you can experience an unforgettable sunset painted against the serene Yaxha Lagoon.

YAXHA is situated within the Yaxa Nakun Naranjo National Park, which constitutes a significant portion of the Mayan Biosphere Reserve. Located between the Sacnab Lagoon and the Yaxha Lagoon, this archaeological site offers a rich tapestry of ancient architectural marvels, including acropoleis, palaces, temples, and numerous lesser-known structures. Our expert guide will accompany us throughout the exploration, providing insights into the flora, fauna, history, and archaeology of this culturally significant location.

Upon arrival at the Visitor Center, we purchase entry tickets priced at Q. 80.00, payable in Guatemalan currency. These tickets entitle us to access the park facilities and receive a Brastile identification card. Following the check-in process, we proceed to the park area via a paved road, approximately one hour in length. Subsequently, we embark upon a journey over rough terrain, covering the final 11 kilometers on unpaved roads, ensuring a challenging but rewarding experience as we approach our destination.

Arriving at the designated parking lot, we are met with the assistance of our knowledgeable guide, who leads us through the scenic landscape of Yaxha National Park. Throughout our guided walk, we engage in informative discussions about the local flora and fauna, historical significance, and archaeological findings associated with this enigmatic site. Upon reaching the summit of Parque la Estructura 216 or the Temple of the Red Hands, we pause to witness a breathtaking sunset, offering unparalleled views of the surrounding natural beauty and cultural heritage.
