Samariá Gorge Hike, Day Excursion from Chania

The Samariá Gorge is an esteemed National Park and World Biosphere Reserve situated on the island of Crete. As part of this full-day excursion, guests will be picked up in Chania and transported by comfortable buses to the scenic location. Upon arrival, enthusiasts can anticipate being captivated by the gorge's awe-inspiring vistas, formed by towering limestone cliffs juxtaposed against charming villages.

A challenging 18-kilometer trek through the gorge awaits visitors, navigating rugged terrain that includes rocky outcroppings and irregular paths. This journey is not recommended for individuals with pre-existing heart conditions, poor fitness levels, or pregnant women due to potential risks associated with such strenuous activity.

Along the trail, several stops provide amenities including restrooms and drinking water. Occasionally, the gorge narrows down to just 3 meters wide, necessitating careful navigation around boulders. Visitors arrive at Agia Roumeli, where they can take a short break before returning via boat to Sougia.

Upon departure, guests will be met back at their original pickup point.
