From Trujillo, full day with paso horses and sailor show

Experience an unforgettable journey through captivating historical sites.

The journey commenced at 10 am, taking us to the Moche countryside, where we were privileged to observe the indigenous lifestyle of the Mocheros. Their artistic prowess was evident through various crafts, including pottery, leatherwork, woodworking, and stonemasonry, each showcasing their unique skillset. Additionally, we had the opportunity to savor the local cuisine, which reflects the region's rich agricultural heritage.

As we explored further into the area, our attention was drawn to the impressive Huacas del Sol y de la Luna, designated as a Mochica sanctuary. This archaeological site comprises a series of monuments that served as an embodiment of the Mochica culture during the 1st century BC to the 9th century AD.

Our next destination was Casa Alcor, a breeding facility renowned for showcasing the majestic Peruvian Paso Horses and Northern Marineras. The breeder graciously allowed us to witness these magnificent animals for an extended period of 40 minutes.

Following the horse show, we proceeded towards Chanchan, a picturesque settlement known for its nine citadels or palaces. These structures shared common architectural features, including grandeur, restricted access, intricate designs, and elaborate construction.

Our final stop before concluding the tour was Huanchaco, a traditional fishing village that continues to honor its Mochica roots. Today, the local community still uses traditional tools like "caballitos," small reed-fishermen's boats, as a means of livelihood alongside modern technology.
