Kawiti Glow Worm Cave Tour & Opua Kauri Forest Walk

Following our exploration, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely 30-minute guided walk through the picturesque Opua Kauri Forest, where you can marvel at the ancient trees and listen to tales from our knowledgeable guide.

Upon commencement of your tour, you will embark at the Waitangi Wharf for pickup and drop-off services. Subsequently, a 12-seater dual-airconditioned minibus will commence your journey, traveling approximately 15 minutes to reach the Kawiti Glowworm Caves. Here, a knowledgeable local Maori guide will escort you on a 30-minute guided tour along a wooden boardwalk traversing a 200-meter limestone cave system. Marvel at the sight of thousands of glow worms illuminating the ceiling while admiring awe-inspiring stalactites and stalagmites.

Following this, your next stop will be the Kawakawa area, known for its renowned "Hundertwasser Toilets." These unique public restrooms serve as a testament to the innovative architectural ideas of Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, who incorporated locally sourced materials into his designs. Your final destination will be the majestic Opua Forest, home to ancient kauri trees dating back centuries. From the forest, you will be transported back to the Waitangi Wharf via the Waitangi lookout, offering numerous photographic opportunities, including the impressive view of your vessel anchored in the bay.
