This ritual culminates in 30 consecutive days, during which devout individuals abstain from food and drink, emphasizing spiritual reflection and gratitude.

In 2023, UNESCO recognized the cultural significance of iftar on its Intangible Cultural Heritage list, highlighting its importance in preserving culinary traditions and communal practices within Muslim communities worldwide.
