The Garden of Dragons:

This extraordinary landscape stands out globally. Nestled within the Sălaj County Natural Park, this protected area is renowned for its unique geological and scenic features. Over millions of years, these formations were shaped through erosion, weathering, and plant life interaction, resulting in various shapes and sizes. As such, the Dragon rocks exhibit continuous changes due to environmental factors like wind, rain, and snow, creating a dynamic beauty that captivates both visitors and scientists alike.

Situated at an elevation of approximately 272 meters above sea level, the garden is shielded from harsh climatic conditions by surrounding hills. Founded in 1957 under the visionary leadership of Professor Vasile Fati, the Jibou Botanical Garden was initially established at Wesselenyi Castle High School. Recognized for its innovative approach to horticulture, it has since become one of the most recent botanical gardens in Romania. Initially conceived as a means to capitalize on the educational potential of the local landscape, the garden now serves as a testament to human ingenuity and ecological preservation.
