Full day Furnas

Embark on an exhilarating journey through the picturesque landscape surrounding Furnas Volcano Lake, where you will not only immerse yourself in its mesmerizing beauty but also discover various fascinating attractions that enhance your exploration experience.

Starting our tour at the tourism office, we proceed towards Ribeira Grande city, where we will first visit the picturesque local beach, Santa Barbara, renowned for its thriving surf community. Following this, we will make our way to the bustling heart of Ribeira Grande.

Subsequently, we will head to the Gorreana Tea Plantation, where I will lead a guided tour through the grounds, elucidating on the rich history and production process of the factory. As we near Furnas, should the weather permit, we shall pause briefly at Miradouro Pico do Ferro, offering panoramic views of the Furnas Lake and village below.

Once within the town of Furnas, we will explore the area's geothermal features, including the hot springs. Here, you may partake in the refreshing natural mineral water, commonly referred to as "Água Azeda," before enjoying a leisurely lunch featuring the unique culinary specialty, "Cozido das Furnas."

Following the meal, we will transport you to Terra Nostra Park/Póza da Dona Beija, where you may experience the therapeutic benefits of the thermal pools. This activity comes with an admission fee, providing an additional sensory delight during your visit.

Our final destination lies at the southern outskirts of the region, where we will conclude our journey at Vila Franca do Campo. In this charming setting, we will sample the traditional pastries, particularly the iconic "Queijada de Vila Franca." Upon returning to your accommodations, we will bid farewell until our next adventure together awaits.
