Experience an enriching day at Amazon, featuring jungle treks, encounters with pink dolphins, feasts with local families, catch of piranha fish, and observation of alligators.
Upon waking up each morning, guests are picked up from their hotels around 8:00 AM. Following a drive westward from Manaus for roughly an hour, travelers arrive at Castanho Lake, where they will meet their hosts. A motorized canoe then transports them into the dense jungle, leading to a two-hour trek.
During the journey, visitors engage in learning sessions about Amazonian flora and fauna, as well as medicinal plants and jungle survival techniques. Participants should prepare by wearing long pants, closed-toe shoes, applying insect repellent, and bringing a raincoat.
Following the walk, participants proceed to a dolphin conservation project located near the mouth of the Amazon River. Here, they learn about the rare and gentle pink river dolphins and participate in an exclusive encounter with these aquatic giants. To enhance the experience, guests may choose to wear swimsuits and bring towels.
In addition to exploring the natural wonders of the region, guests are invited to dine at the host’s home, where traditional cuisine awaits. During this meal, guests can gain insight into the cultural heritage and historical context of the Amazonian community.
For those who wish to immerse themselves further in the environment, a guided boat tour is organized through the flooded forest. This excursion offers the chance to fish for piranhas, which are known for their fierce reputation but are actually harmless. Guests should bring sunscreen and hats for the trip.
As evening approaches, guests embark on a quest to locate alligator sightings and other nocturnal wildlife species. After returning to the vehicle, travelers travel back to Manaus, expected arrival time at the hotel being around 8:00 PM. For added comfort during the journey, guests might consider bringing flashlights.
