Evening Ski Trek to the Wilderness

Experience the enchanting ambiance of a serene snowy forest during the nighttime, illuminated by the glow of the moon, twinkling stars, or even the mesmerizing spectacle of the Northern Lights! Enjoy an intimate retreat with up to four participants.

Please join our exclusive group consisting of no more than four individuals, where we embark upon a thrilling adventure during the magical evening hours within the snow-covered forest. This serene environment is illuminated by both the soft glow of the moon and the twinkling stars, occasionally enhanced by the breathtaking spectacle of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). Under less favorable conditions, such as cloudy skies or a crescent moon, the darkness envelops us, leaving only the faint illumination of our headlamps to guide our path.

Our journey begins at a secluded location approximately one hour's drive from Rovaniemi, situated amidst untouched wilderness and devoid of bustling towns or marked hiking trails. Here, we prepare ourselves for an exhilarating excursion into the world of Nordic skiing. Armed with appropriate equipment, including skis and headlamps, we meticulously learn fundamental trekking-skiing techniques under the watchful guidance of our experienced instructor.

As dusk descends, we commence our descent through dense, pristine forests and icy marshes, gradually advancing towards a traditional Lappish settlement known as Koto. Our campsite, adorned with a roaring hearth and aromatic smoke rising from the cooking flames, serves as our temporary home.

During this idyllic retreat, we shall engage in celestial observations, searching for hidden constellations and the elusive Aurora Borealis. Should you possess a camera, our expert guide will assist in capturing these awe-inspiring natural phenomena.

Koto becomes our permanent residence, where we gather to roast a hearty meal over the open flame. Reindeer skin cushions provide ample comfort, while gentle warmth ensures that even the chilliest evenings prove bearable. Frequent checks of the night sky allow us to relish the beauty of the stars and the shimmering auroras. When the temperature drops too low, we venture indoors to bask in the radiant heat of our makeshift cabin.
