Iasi, Cricova Winery, Chisinau City Tour and Capriana

Upon waking in the morning, the tour guide will be ready to transport you to the heart of Chisinau, the historic capital of Moldova. The journey begins with a visit to the Capriana Monastery, once the residence of the Metropolitan of Moldova and later patronized by several rulers of the country, including Stefan the Great.

Chisinau has a fascinating history dating back to its earliest documentation in 1420; however, much of the city was destroyed during World War II and a devastating earthquake in 1940. Post-war reconstruction took place under Soviet influence, resulting in a predominantly utilitarian architectural landscape characterized by high-rise buildings lining the city’s center and outskirts.
