Cusco, Excursion to Ausangate 7 Lagunas + lunch

We undertake an expedition lasting over two hours into the Andean mountains, traversing a region teeming with lush vegetation and diverse wildlife. Upon arrival, visitors will have the opportunity to explore seven pristine lakes nestled among verdant landscapes, each offering its own unique charm. Additionally, guests may indulge in the therapeutic waters of Pachanta's renowned hot springs, rejuvenating both body and soul.

The seven lagoons are situated south of the region under the shadow of the snowy Ausangate Mountain, owing to the accumulation of meltwater which feeds these bodies of water. These elevated lakes, exceeding altitudes of over 4,200 meters above sea level, form part of a circuit encompassing the picturesque Pucacocha, Patacocha, Alqacocha, Qomercocha, Orco Otorongo, China Otorongo, and Azul Cocha lagoons. To access these natural wonders, visitors must undertake a strenuous journey lasting more than two hours through the scenic Andean landscape.

The expedition commences with the pickup from the hotel (either adjacent to or within the historical center), typically scheduled between 4:00 and 5:00 am. Following this, travelers proceed to the nearby community of Pacchanta, where they can enjoy a hearty breakfast. Subsequently, the group embarks on a trekking adventure, beginning their ascent towards the first lagoon and proceeding onward to the final destination, covering approximately 10 kilometers during the guided tour.

Upon reaching the summit, participants may indulge in a rejuvenating soak in the therapeutic waters of the local hot springs, known as the 'Pacchanta' thermal baths. This invigorating ritual concludes the day's activities, followed by a leisurely meal prepared at the same resort. Lastly, the group returns to Cusco, arriving around 6:30 pm, ready to relish the evening ambiance amidst the bustling Plaza de Armas.
