During this period, one of the most remarkable experiences awaits guests. We embark on a journey through the majestic Cordillera de los Andes, where the renowned "Cajón del Maipo" stands out, having consistently earned recognition as the "Best Adventure Tourism Destination in South America," under the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2018, often referred to as the "Oscars of Tourism."

Our initial stop is the Plaza de San José de Maipo, designated as a National Monument of Chile. Founded by Don Ambrosio O'Higgins in 1792, the settlement was established as a Villa to support the extensive mining activities occurring in the region. These mines were significant contributors to the colonial coffers due to their substantial output of silver.

Following this, we proceed inland to the Cajón del Maipo's heartland, reaching San Alfonso, home to the historic Casa del Chocolate, celebrated for its architectural beauty crafted by artist Sergio Andrade using recycled materials like wood, clay, and precious stones. Visitors are now invited to explore and savor local natural products free from chemical additives, including an ice cream parlour and chocolate shop run by Lorenzo Andrade alongside his mother, Liliana Astorga.

Next, we delve into the scenic landscapes surrounding the Andes Mountains, ultimately arriving at the picturesque El Morado sector. After traversing approximately one hour, we reach our "Scenic photographic point," offering insights into the formation of this expansive mountain system, rich in minerals such as copper and gypsum.

The final chapter of our expedition concludes at El Morado Lodge & Spa, nestled in one of the Precordilleran Villages of the Cajón del Maipo in Lo Valdés. This self-sustaining establishment, situated atop the highest point in the Cajón del Maipo, boasts amenities including a restaurant, fitness center, spa center, saunas, Turkish baths, and an indoor pool. Guests indulge in a healthy lunch before relaxing in the lodge's serene surroundings, surrounded by nature.
