The monument to the unknown soldier in Nasr City, a pyramid-shaped memorial located in the Nasr City neighborhood, honors Egyptian soldiers who lost their lives during the War of Attrition and the October 1973 War. This memorial, designed by Egyptian artist Sami Rafie and commissioned by Late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, was built according to Sadat's wishes upon his assassination in October 1981. Al-Fishawi Café, one of Cairo's most notable cafes, dating back to 1797, has been immortalized through its association with Egyptian author Naguib Mahfouz, who referred to it as "Al-Fishawi." This café served as both a literary haven and a meeting ground for intellectuals and common folk alike. Transforming Al-Moez Street, which once constituted the heart of Cairo's historic district, into an open-air museum of Islamic architecture showcased Barqouq mosque and school, El Aqmar Mosque, the Mosque of El Saleh Tale, The Blue Mosque, the Dome, Hospital, and School of Qalawoon. From Bab El Fottoh in the northern part of the city to Bab Zuwaila in the southern area, this stretch became a vast collection of medieval architectural marvels in the Islamic world.
