Breivikeidet, Introduction to Cross-Country Skiing

Embark upon an introductory cross-country skiing experience where you may either ski along established trails under professional guidance or venture off-premises onto uncharted territory.

The tour commences at the Scandic Ishavshotel, from which participants will be picked up for a 50-minute scenic bus ride to our campsite in Breivikeidet. Upon arrival, participants will be greeted by their tour guide and equipped with thermal suits, boots, hats, mittens, and cross-country gear, including skis and poles.

To prepare for the expedition, participants will learn fundamental skills such as movement, ski placement, falling, and re-ascending. These lessons are designed to be accessible to beginners, ensuring everyone feels confident throughout the day. Participants will then embark on a trek through the stunning alpine landscape guided by their experienced team.

Following the tour, participants are encouraged to enjoy traditional Sami hospitality in our lavvu (a cozy Sámi tent). Here, they can gather around the fire to warm themselves with hot drinks and savor delicious cakes while chatting with fellow adventurers.

Furthermore, the basecamp serves as an excellent starting point for our dog sled tours. A total of approximately 80 huskies await guests, ready to provide companionship and affection. Post-adventure relaxation, participants will be transported back to the city with cherished memories of their cross-country journey.
