Sao Miguel, Caldeiroes Canyoning Experience

Embark on an unforgettable canyoning expedition from São Miguel Island to explore the breathtaking Parque Natural da Ribeira dos Caldeirões. Experience thrilling rappels, daring jumps, and awe-inspiring natural slides as you conquer this stunning natural wonder. This excursion takes place at Parque Natural da Ribeira dos Caldeirões, located in the northeastern region of the island of São Miguel, approximately 45 minutes from the city of Ponta Delgada. Upon arrival, participants will receive their personal equipment and commence a short walk lasting approximately 15 minutes towards their first safety briefing location. Following this, an ascending route begins, during which participants undergo a second safety briefing session focused on rappelling techniques.

Continuing upwards, the group reaches the start of the canyon after another ten-minute ascent. This marks the beginning of the exhilarating Canyoning Experience, characterized by various activities such as multiple jumps ranging between 2 and 7 meters in height, a natural slide, and some abseils spanning from 5 to 15 meters in length. Participants will then follow their original path back to the departure point.

It is important to note that the specific itinerary and difficulty levels of the experience may vary depending on current conditions and seasonal changes. Additionally, should any participant find the activity challenging or uncomfortable, alternative options are available for each obstacle.
