5 Days Bale Mountains Trekking

Day 01: Drive from Addis Ababa to Bale Mountains National Park. Upon arrival, proceed to the park headquarters in the afternoon, followed by a leisurely afternoon hike, potentially spotting two endemic mammals—Menelik's Bushbuck and Mountain Nyala. Notable bird species include the Blue-winged Goose, Spot-Breasted Lapwing, Abyssinian Long Claw, Wattled Ibis, Black-Headed Siskin, Rouget's Rail, and several others.

Day 2: Depart from the park headquarters and begin the trek to Sodota. Along the route, the Mountain Nyala and Menelik's Bushbuck can be observed around Dinsho. Hike through the park, stopping at Habera Waterfall for a refreshing break. The journey takes approximately 6-7 hours, concluding with overnight camping at Sodota.

Day 3: Continue on the trek to Wasama, traversing a breathtaking landscape with picturesque views. Encounter the Lammergeyer and Verreaux Eagles nesting sites in Mararo Valley. Additionally, expect to spot the Ethiopian Wolf and various bird species during this trek.

Day 4: Begin the morning with an ascent to Mt. Wasama (4200m), followed by a descent into the Worgona Valley. Look out for Falcons, raptors, and possibly the elusive Ethiopian wolf. End the day at Lake Gebre Gurracha, which translates to "black lake" in Oromo.
