Trip Overview

The itinerary commences with arrival in Paro via Paro International Airport, followed by a guided two-hour drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Upon reaching Thimphu, visitors will pay homage to the Memorial Stupa commemorating the third King of Bhutan, witness the colossal Buddha Dordenma statue symbolizing the 60th anniversary of King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, and conclude their day with a visit to Tashichho Dzong, the traditional seat of the Druk Desi (head of civil government), now integrated within the royal lineage since 1907. Accommodations for this segment will be housed in a '3 Star' category hotel located in Thimphu.

Day 2: Thimphu - Punakha Roundtrip

Continuing the journey, the second day features a seven-to-eight-hour round-trip from Thimphu to Punakha, where travelers will stop at Dochula Pass to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and picturesque landscapes. Alongside this excursion, visitors will visit the Chimi Lhakhang Temple dedicated to fertility and the stunning Punakha Dzong, constructed by Zandruk in 1637. For overnight accommodation, guests will return to Thimphu.

Day 3: Return Trip to Paro

Embarking upon Day Three, participants undertake a one-to-two-hour drive back from Thimphu to Paro. At Paro, they proceed to the base camp of Taktsang and subsequently ascend to Tiger’s Nest Monastery, perched atop a sheer cliff approximately 900 meters above Paro Valley. This historic temple was bestowed blessings by Guru Rinpoche in the eighth century after his meditation lasted for three years, three months, and three days.

During the return journey, tourists will also visit the Kichu Temple, an ancient structure dating back to the seventh century, situated in Paro. The evening concludes with a visit to a local farm house to experience Bhutanese lifestyle, accompanied by a Bhutanese dinner and a hot-stone bath. Following this, accommodations for the last leg of the trip will again be provided by a '3 Star' category hotel in Paro.

Final Departure

On the concluding day, participants will bid farewell and are scheduled to be dropped off at Paro International Airport two hours prior to their final departure. Meals for this stage will consist solely of breakfast.
