14 Day Cultural Odyssey

Arrival in Cotonou

On Day 1, guests will commence their journey with a warm welcome in Cotonou, where they will receive assistance with immigration and customs procedures. Subsequently, they will transfer to their designated hotel for a period of relaxation and debriefing. Following this, they will indulge in a delightful dinner followed by a well-deserved night’s sleep.

Porto-Novo - The Royal Capital

On Day 2, guests will embark on an immersive experience in the culturally rich city of Porto-Novo. They will explore the majestic Royal Palace, which stands as a symbol of the unique architectural heritage and traditional practices of the local royal court. Additionally, they will visit The Musée Da Silva, where they can appreciate the diverse range of African art and cultural artifacts. For those interested in the local architectural prowess, they will have the opportunity to view Zamgbetor House, showcasing the ingenuity of local construction techniques.

A picturesque boat ride along the mystical Black River Adjarra offers visitors an extraordinary glimpse into the serene beauty of the area. They will also participate in the fascinating Egungun Initiation and Performance ceremonies, providing them with a deeper understanding of the indigenous culture.

Their overnight accommodation will take place in Cotonou, ensuring a comfortable transition into their next destination.

Ganvie - The Venice of Africa

On Day 3, guests will venture to Ganvie, a charming village situated on water, offering them a unique lifestyle experience. This excursion includes a visit to the intriguing Python Temple in Ouidah, followed by immersion in the enchanting Sacred Forest. To conclude their exploration of the region, they will spend the night back in Cotonou.

Ouidah - The Historical Hub

On Day 4, guests will pay homage to the Zinsou Foundation and engage with contemporary African art through its exhibitions. Their tour will then take them to trace the tragic history of the slave trade, starting with a visit to the Slave Route and the Point of No Return. Next, they will be captivated by the mesmerizing Zangbetor performances. Afterward, they will relax by the beach.

Ganvie to Abomey - Heritage and History

On Day 5, guests will travel to Ganvie, a village built on water, and witness a unique way of life. They will proceed to explore the intriguing Python Temple in Ouidah, before immersing themselves in the enchanting Sacred Forest. To complete their itinerary, they will visit the subterranean village of Agoingointo, gaining insights into the historical significance of this location.

In the evening, they will settle in Cotonou, ready for another exciting day ahead.

Abomey to Natitingou - Mystique and Marvel

On Day 6, guests will delve into history at the Museum of Abomey, while engaging with the vibrant fetish market. They will also explore the subterranean village of Agoingointo, experiencing an enthralling Voodoo performance with a local fetish priest.

On Day 7, guests will pause at the sacred Place Dancoli and journey to Taneka korko and Taneka Béri, where they can marvel at the cave of Taneka Béri. They will visit a Fulani settlement, highlighting the richness of cultural diversity. Finally, they will marvel at the Kota Falls, a natural wonder.

To conclude their time in Natitingou, they will rest under the starry skies of Natitingou.

Natitingou - Boukoumbe

On Day 8, guests will cross the border from Benin to Togo. In the morning, they will experience a day with the Batammariba people in their Tata's. They will continue to Karra and enjoy an evening at a local restaurant with cultural performances, concluding their stay in Karra.

Long Drive to Lome

On Day 9, guests will check into their hotel and relax, preparing for the next phase of their journey.

Lome - Explore Lome

On Day 10, guests will visit the Akodessewa fetish market and Lome Musee. They will also explore the Agbodrafo slave house, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and continue to Togoville, the origin of Togo.

Lome - Departure

On Day 11, guests will cross the border from Lome to Ghana. They will embark on a long drive to Accra and check into their hotel.

Accra City Tour

On Day 12, guests will visit the E.W.B. Dubois Center for Pan African Culture, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Independence/Black Star Square, National Museum, Osu (formerly Christiansborg) Castle, and Jamestown. They will also visit the Kane Kwesi Carpentry Workshop.

Accra - Cape Coast

On Day 13, guests will travel to Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle, followed by Kakum National Park.
